Current Obsession: Lamelle Nourish Range

I have been having lots of issues with my skin recently, since going off a certain pill. My hormones have been all over the show and subsequently my skin has been suffering. I've had breakouts, crazy weird combinations of both excessively oily and excessively dry patches, and a painful rash around my jaw area.

I decided that it was time to change up my skin routine as I have been using the same products for about 5 years now. I have had issues with acne before, so a trip to the doctor confirmed that I needed (another) course of Accutane (a generic form of Roaccutane).

*Side note: (Accutane is a really serious medication with a long list of harmful and permanent side-effects and is not prescribed willy-nilly for the slightest case of pimples. But going on the fact that I have been on this medication twice before as a teenager for severe acne, the doctor prescribed it for me.)

My friend Sally from my book club introduced me to Lamelle recently, and I have to say it could not have come at a better time. I've been using the Nourish range for two weeks now, and so far I can honestly say that I am obsessed.

About Nourish

Free radicals are atoms or molecules that have one or more unpaired electrons making them ‘reactive’ with other atoms or molecules creating cellular injury. When the free radical molecule involves oxygen, we call it a REACTIVE OXYGEN SPECIES (ROS). ROS is a free radical.

Free radical production can be attributed to the following:
-  The production of energy from the food we eat is a source of free radicals.
-  2-5% of the oxygen we breathe is converted to Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) free radicals. In other
words even at rest, we are producing ROS.
- The more oxygen we consume, the greater the amount of ROS we produce. This is especially true in
athletes or people with a more active lifestyle.

The body has several antioxidants to combat these Reactive Oxygen Species. An anti-oxidant is a vital molecule that has the ability to deactivate ROS.

Lamelle Research Laboratories offers the most comprehensive free radical protection system against free radical damage. Nourish provides significant reduction in free radical injury, reduction of premature photoageing, preservation of the skin immune response and restoration of the natural skin antioxidant defence systems.

I love Lamelle for it's amazing smell and really creamy texture. The cleanser removes all traces of makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean, but not tight. The moisturiser is rich but easily absorbed, and doesn't leave a sticky/oily film on my skin. You also only need to use the tiniest amount of each. My skin is looking radiant and smooth and feels nourished. So far, I am loving this range.

  1. This is interesting, I'm keen to try. I have also been on Roaccutane and recently thought of giving it a go for the second time but before this happened I had a scan at my gynae and was told I have polycystic ovaries which accounts for my bad skin and imbalanced hormones. I have had to dramatically change my diet and have found that just by balancing what I put into my body there has been a great improvement. Speak to your gynae as there are other alternatives to going onto Roaccutane again - especially as its recurring. Best of luck.

    1. Really? I just saw the gynae in November and there wasn't anything unhappy at that stage. As soon as I went off the pill, my skin started freaking out completely. Roaccutane is def not ideal, but I'm only doing one month. Thanks for your comment, and good luck.
