All I Want For My Birthday

My birthday is just a month away and the time has come to start hinting heavily in the direction of the gifts I want. Most of the time, I just want everything. But this year, I want only one thing:

Fantastic Kitchen Knives

Quality kitchen knives can be like having a small professional chef attached to the end of your arm. That's how much of difference they make. My current kitchen knives are more like having a small paraplegic chef who is in a coma attached to the end of my arm.

I've spent a good (creepy) amount of time ogling knives on Yuppiechef and I have decided on a few options that I would be happy with. It's times like these that I am grateful not to be living in a country that monitors your online movements and searches. Not so sure they would be happy with the amount of time I've been spending knife-shopping recently.

Yes, great kitchen knives are expensive. But most of them come with fantastic guarantees. And what's a couple of thousand Rand for a small personal chef, anyway? I see them as an investment.
