My dad lives on the other side of the country, in the very small tucked away town of Pietermaritzburg.
ReplyDeleteThe sad thing is, i know that both my sister and i would have loved to be with him on fathers day, but alas, due to reasons beyond our control, we simply cannot. What only adds to the constant guilt, is that my fathers birthday, is a mere two days before fathers day.
So yet again, all we could do, was phone him, and try express how much he means to us, and trying to get my dad to talk on the phone is like pulling blood from a stone. It breaks my heart that my dad has not seen either one of his kids on fathers day, or his birthday for nearly 5 years.

My daddy lives 720 kilometers from me. For father's day I got him exactly nothing. Well, if a phonecall and an emailed photo collage counts then I got him that. The silly photos mushed together and the soppy phonecall simply do not cut it because my dad deserves the world. In my twenty four years on earth, he has given me the world and I would like to give as much back to him as I can. I am so grateful to have my dad and am reminded every day how lucky I am.
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell you how perfect this present would be for my dad. After his family, he loves cycling/health/fitness the most. I know that he would use the BuchuLife products as well as whatever he'd buy from Sportsmans Warehouse every day. I'd really like to make his month and I know this would do it a lot more than a phonecall and a collage.

I live with my dad, and being retrenched, all I got him was a slab of nestle plain choc. Borrowed the money to buy it from my mom. To top it all off, he was discharged from hospital on fathersday. @Esteffens79 (mail : esteffens@mtn.blackberry.com)
ReplyDeleteparents have been divorced since I was 4, and every year like clockwork I would send him a bottle of aftershave, only at 16 to make the connection that man with beard, will have cupboard full of aftershave after 12 years!!!

I bought him a winter-survival pack (slippers, scarf etc), but it just does not measure up!

ReplyDeleteSo this year I met my dad after 23years. I was still a toddler when I last saw him. I live in Jhb and he in Dbn so iv only seen him twice. I dont really know him so i dont know what to get_YET. I did however have a long chat with him on fathers day and I made him a card to give him the next time I see him which will be for my birthday in early July. Its a special card cos it has pics and messages of me through the years he has missed seeing me.Kind of like a collage. Im sure he will love it.
ReplyDeleteIt was a really bad budget > All i managed to do was send him a "please call me" and wish him.
ReplyDeleteBad daughter i know. I can so make up for it with this awesome prize.
