No one told the trees that it was Spring. I can't wait to see how beautiful the market is going to be in summer.
The market is really sweet and there were far too many things that I wanted to eat. Pies and dim sum and burgers and cupcakes...in the end I opted for the seafood paella which was amazing! The market is really well priced starting at around R16 for a homemade pie up to R60 for the paella.
The flower stand has the most beautiful, fresh flowers and are just R20 a bunch! The flower seller is a real character and almost charged me R5 per photo which would have been worth it anyway.
You can pretty much do all your grocery shopping for the week at the market- meats, cheeses, fruit and veg, nuts and organic dried fruit. I definitely want to try to do my weekly shopping here in stead of at giant grocery stores. Supporting local and all that.
One of my favourite stands is Dr Juice. I had an amazing beetroot, lemon, ginger, orange and celery juice which instantly made me feel about 300% healthier.
I loved this cheese man's vibe so much. I want to get to know him. And sit on his porch eating cheese and talking about his life.
If you're in Town on a Thursday, visit the Earth Fair Market for some lunch and a scoop of The Creamery's amazingly incredible peanut butter ice scream.
Love this post - awesome pics too. Def going to give it a visit x
ReplyDeleteIt's a pity that this market is not in my region :(
