On Monday night I got the opportunity to live out pretty much my biggest girly fantasy. Which obviously involved millions of Rands of diamonds. Obviously.
Shimansky invited me, Misha, Emma-Jane, Emma Jude, Fran, Nikki, Natasha, Jules and Lize to an experience of luxury and spoils at their showroom at the Clock Tower in the V&A Waterfront. There was loads of amazing sushi from Sevruga (one of my absolute favourite sushi spots), a seemingly endless supply of bubbles from Pongratz and hair, makeup and nail stations to get us looking and feeling gorgeous.
And then, there were diamonds. Mr Shimansky (founder of Shimansky Diamonds), generously kept the store open after hours and allowed us all to dive heart first into his treasure trove of incredible jewelry. I'd never seen so many diamonds in my entire life, let alone touched anything even close to that carat and clarity! I zoned in on the collection of rare black diamonds and it was not long before I was pretty much drunk on their sparkly sparkles.
I became particularly attached to the amazing black panther ring below which, rumour has it, almost sold to one Mr MC Hammer and would have been with him now if his fingers weren't so big. It would also have been with me right now if my bank balance wasn't so small. I tried on everything from the black diamond range and I loved it all so much! The only piece that could drag me away from the black diamond display cabinet was the spectacular sparkler below consisting of five enormous diamonds and valued at almost three million Rand.
We all had loads of fun in the photobooth and we pretty much had to be kicked out at 10pm. We all got on really well and weren't ready to go home just yet, so we headed over to the Westin where Emma-Jane was staying for a night cap. That night I dreamed about sparkly things all night long.
Emma Jude, the luckiest fish, won herself a stunning diamond worth R7500 in the lucky draw! Can you deal with that?! Thank you Mr Shimansky for the amazing evening. It was like being in a movie about being a girl. And a huge thank you to the Shimansky staff who are just so incredibly nice and helpful and indulged all our requests to "please just try that one on and then I'll be done".

Ohmgee, you are the luckiest girl in the world! How much fun to play with sparkly diamonds! I really, really, really LOVE that panther ring. Now, it will haunt my dreams.
